Artist's Note:

During a sweltering summer weekend in Sedona, I gawked at the many tall agave plants that speckled the red rock landscape. In this piece, the agave is the star subject supported by the bold background in the color palette of the Sedona landscape. It reminds us of earth's natural beauty and that life can overcome the harshest of conditions.
